We are at once both happy and sad to announce the retirement of the founder of our practice, Dr. Gary Gordon! It is difficult if not impossible to sum up his contributions and achievements to both sports medicine and podiatry over the past 46 years of dedicated service. Please Read the Message Below from Dr. Gordon:
*A FAREWELL FROM DR. GARY GORDON*
My Dear Friends: For the past forty-six years I have been privileged to practice podiatric medicine. In what would be my forty-seventh year of practice, COVID-19 hitting our country forced a lot of unwanted changes, including my decision to retire from practice. Thankfully, my family has thus far been spared from the virus and I hope that you and your family have also escaped the disease. My decision to retire was not an easy one. I love the field I chose. I enjoyed my patients, treating and caring for so many, whether it was general podiatric issues, surgery or sports medicine. Professionally, I have also had the opportunity to address local groups, as well as national and international podiatric and sports medicine organizations. I have had the honor of serving as President of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine Association and the American Running Association. I have received numerous honors and awards over the years but without doubt my greatest pleasure and achievement was treating you, my patients. You became friends. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you and learn about you, your life and your family. Thank you for sharing so many memorable times with me. Though I leave with sadness, I know that I am leaving your care in the good and very capable hands of Dr. Alicia Canzanese. She is a talented and caring doctor as I am sure you have discovered for yourself by now. I want to thank my staff for their professionalism and dedication. I especially want to recognize my office manager, Jackie Haney, who has been with me for over 30 years. Without her, and each of the others, the office and practice would not have run as smoothly all these years. I am truly grateful to all of them. My sincerest wishes to each of you for good health. I deeply appreciate your friendship and for allowing me to treat you all these years.
Sincerely, Dr. Gary Gordon
